The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS235
WS235 remains almost entirely at ground level, with a rifle across his body and one hand reaching behind him. The title supplies the missing action: he is asking for a written order, making the open hand the center of the scene.

The receiver matters as much as the runner
WS234 provides the running messenger with the paper. WS235 gives that movement a destination, turning two individual figures into an exchange rather than leaving the runner with nowhere to go.
The figures were separately cataloged. The receiving soldier is the subject of WS235; the runner should not be assumed included because the two poses work well together.
The sculpt splits attention in two directions
The rifle and torso remain oriented forward while the hand reaches back. That divided attention creates the tension of the pose: the soldier is occupied with the situation ahead but still needs information from someone behind him.
The manufacturer does not identify the order or the man’s name. Keeping those details open preserves the distinction between a historical theme and an invented account of a specific wartime moment.
A scene can be built around the gap
The space between the reaching hand and the messenger is what makes the exchange readable. A little distance suggests arrival; placing the bodies too close together can obscure the paper and the empty palm.
The low figure also creates a useful height contrast with a standing or running companion. The viewer can follow the action down from the runner to the waiting hand.
WS235 belongs in the collection because it gives another figure something meaningful to do. Its own rifle, lowered body and backward reach make it recognizable even when displayed alone.
The strongest identification photograph shows both the weapon and the open hand, preserving the two directions of attention that define the release.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS235 product record lists a release date of October 2013. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
