The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS187
The palm facing outward gives WS187 its command before the weapon is noticed. The SS trooper holds his MP44 lower across the body while the raised hand signals a vehicle or person to stop.

The manufacturer places him amid retreat
The release description sets the figure among checks on vehicles and passengers as German units withdraw and become fragmented. The pose therefore belongs to a late-war control point rather than a parade-ground instruction.
That setting gives the apparently simple gesture a sharper meaning. The soldier is exercising authority over movement at a time when the surrounding military situation is breaking down.
Camouflage covers much of the silhouette
The spotted clothing and helmet cover create an irregular pattern above the gray trousers. Dark gloves and equipment form stronger accents around the hands, waist and weapon.
The MP44’s shape differs from the slimmer submachine guns in many earlier WS releases. Here it is held ready while the other hand performs the visible task of stopping traffic.
A checkpoint is a relationship between figures
WS188’s young rifleman was released as support for this man. WS189 adds an inspecting officer, allowing a small group to suggest a control point with different roles.
The figures should retain those distinctions. The Hitler Youth guard is not simply another adult SS soldier, and the officer’s inconsistent catalog naming deserves its own explanation.
Give the raised hand a clear audience
A vehicle facing the trooper can make the gesture understandable without adding elaborate scenery. Keep the hand clear of the windscreen or driver’s head so the interaction remains readable.
The set does not identify an individual checkpoint or specific incident. Its historical role comes from the manufacturer’s retreat-and-inspection setting, while the miniature expresses that role through the open palm, carried weapon and watchful stance.
WS187 contributes an exercise of authority to the late-war catalog, a different subject from direct battlefield firing.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS187 product record lists a release date of May 2011 and a retirement date of March 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
