The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS160

Large patches of green, tan and brown cover the trousers of WS160, contrasting with the black Panzer jacket above. The hands-on-hips pose and binoculars at the chest make this named Arno Giesen figure particularly easy to recognize within the 2010 crew releases.

The trousers are the visual signature

The manufacturer explicitly identifies the trousers as Italian camouflage. Their broad blocks of colour occupy almost half the figure’s height, so they remain visible even at ordinary shelf distance.

The black jacket gives those colours a plain upper boundary. A peaked cap and the pale binoculars add detail around the face, while the outward elbows broaden the silhouette.

A named subject calls for careful biography

The archived title describes Giesen as an SS tank ace and includes a numerical combat claim. This article records the manufacturer’s identification without repeating that total as independently established history.

A sales paragraph is a useful source for what a collectible was called and how its clothing was described. It is a starting point for a service biography, rather than a substitute for personnel records and operational evidence.

Compare him with the talking officers

WS163 also makes camouflage trousers prominent, but uses two conversational poses and contrasting jackets. WS160 presents a single named man with a more outward-facing stance.

That distinction gives collectors two different ways to use similar uniform interest: a portrait that stands alone or a pair whose meaning comes from their interaction. The broad Italian-pattern patches are particularly useful for comparing the painted treatment between releases.

A portrait at the edge of the vehicle group

Position the figure where the trousers remain visible below a vehicle’s hull line. A tank placed directly in front can hide the detail that makes this release distinctive.

The WS historical retrospective keeps the Waffen-SS setting attached to the collecting subject. WS160 adds a named portrait and a conspicuous uniform combination, best appreciated with both the sculptural details and the limits of the brief release biography in view.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS160 product record lists a release date of June 2010 and a retirement date of May 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
