The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS115

WS115 carries his rifle over a shoulder as he walks, with camouflage clothing above grey trousers and dark boots. It is a travelling pose whose direction is easy to understand from across a shelf.

A single step in a larger rhythm

The archived title identifies one marching Waffen-SS trooper. Repeating the figure can create a column, but the individual release remains one man.

The raised rifle lengthens the outline above the shoulder. The free arm and forward leg provide a second, lower rhythm that keeps the pose from looking like a stationary guard.

Read the figure from both sides

The shoulder-carried weapon and equipment can merge into the body from one angle and become distinct from another. A side-quarter photograph is therefore particularly helpful for identifying the sculpt.

The patterned clothing also benefits from some plain space around it. Dense camouflage scenery can make the man disappear visually even when the figure is close to the viewer.

The march between the better-known moments

Military miniature collections often favour battles and prominent commanders. A walking trooper represents the movement between those moments, with no large event required to explain the pose.

The WS historical retrospective supplies the wider organizational context. The short product record does not assign this anonymous man to a particular division or dated march.

A useful comparison with WS096

WS096 is a Wehrmacht marching rifleman from the preceding year’s releases. Comparing the two through headgear, clothing and posture is more informative than assuming that all German marching figures are identical.

WS114’s officer is another natural companion, but his peaked cap and lower arms create a different silhouette. WS115 belongs in the catalog as this specific camouflage-clad trooper, with a clearly recorded code and an uncomplicated movement that can help connect a larger display.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS115 product record lists a release date of April 2008 and a retirement date of October 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
