The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS098
The sloping hull and compact turret say T-34, while the crosses, camouflage and crew say German service. WS098 builds its interest around that mismatch between a tank’s origins and its represented operators.

The original design behind the conversion
The Tank Museum’s T-34/76 account describes the Soviet medium tank’s combination of mobility, armour and a 76.2mm gun. Its own early example was captured by Finnish forces, illustrating that a surviving tank’s service history can cross national boundaries.
That museum vehicle is not the subject of WS098. King & Country’s release specifically depicts a German-operated example, with alterations described in its own announcement.
Four features define this miniature
- German-style side skirts add broad panels above the running gear.
- A German-style turret hatch changes the detail at the top.
- Three-colour camouflage covers the Soviet vehicle’s underlying shape.
- A Nazi recognition flag lies on the rear deck as part of the represented wartime markings.
The archive lists three German crew figures. Their presence reinforces the intended operator identity, especially when the tank is viewed from the front.
A model is not a technical photograph of every conversion
The release records one manufacturer interpretation of a captured vehicle. Its particular combination of fittings should not be generalized to every T-34 used by German forces.
Likewise, the sweeping claims about Soviet tactics in some old sales copy are not needed to understand this model. The useful questions concern the actual vehicle, its represented fittings and the evidence attached to them.
Why it belongs in two national searches
The Russian category identifies the Soviet design; the German category identifies the service depicted. Keeping both makes the tank easier to compare with Soviet T-34 releases and German armour.
For display, the side-quarter angle is especially revealing: it preserves the recognizable hull while making the added skirts and crew visible. WS098 earns its place through that layered identity.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS098 product record lists a release date of May 2007 and a retirement date of September 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
