The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS060

WS060 is built around a kneeling Panzerschreck gunner. A prone NCO gestures from ground level, while two standing figures create a higher line behind him. The result is a compact scene with an immediately recognizable centre.

Two titles for the same group

The archived page calls the set Tank Ambush, while the description names the Panzerschreck team. Both refer to this four-figure release. Keeping the two names together helps identify it when older boxes and dealer listings use different wording.

The original group contains the prone NCO, gunner, loader and another Panzergrenadier with a submachine gun and stick grenade. No opposing tank is included in that description.

Panzerschreck and Panzerfaust are different subjects

The long shoulder launcher here should not be confused with the Panzerfaust carried by other WS figures. The Smithsonian’s Panzerschreck collection record identifies the German 88mm rocket launcher and its connection with the American bazooka.

That distinction is useful for searching a collection: a broad label such as German antitank team can hide two visibly and technically different weapons.

The empty space matters

The prone figure’s raised arm and the long launcher leave a pocket of open space between the men. That space helps the viewer read their relationship. Crowding another figure immediately into it can make the carefully arranged group harder to understand.

The ambush title supplies a situation rather than a documented battle. A restrained display can leave the unseen opponent outside the scene and let the gestures carry the tension. In the catalog, WS060 belongs as this original four-man combination, with its Waffen-SS setting explained in the series overview.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS060 product record lists a release date of August 2004 and a retirement date of December 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
