King & Country WH093 Hitler, His Generals and the Atlantic Wall: The Models on the Planning Table

A tableau, not proof of a particular meeting

The product presents a review of Atlantic Wall designs. The available record does not establish an exact date, location or photograph documenting this precise group around this table.

The catalog treats it as a manufacturer’s historical tableau. That preserves the subject without turning a plausible-looking arrangement into evidence that the depicted meeting occurred as shown.

The table is the unusual collecting feature

The pale models stand out against the green tabletop in the saved photograph. A raised viewing angle reveals their different forms and keeps them from disappearing behind the table edge.

The four named figures also represent different positions within the Nazi regime and its armed forces. Their inclusion is historical subject matter, not an endorsement of them.

Why this set needs an explanatory entry

WH093 can open a discussion of planning, occupation and the production of fortifications. Its strongest feature is the relationship between the small design models and the people gathered behind them. Keeping the interpretation and its limits explicit makes the scene more useful than an unexplained group of personalities.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WH093 product record lists a release date of December 2018 and a retirement date of September 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability.
