King & Country WH088 Feldgrau Kübelwagen Ambulance: The Empty Vehicle Awaiting Its Next Journey

Empty is part of the original release

The archived description explicitly identifies this version as awaiting both driver and wounded passenger. Their absence from a listing is therefore different from missing figures in the occupied WH087 set.

This is the sort of small distinction that a useful catalog needs to preserve. Similar vehicle bodies do not guarantee identical original contents.

A medical scene ready for additions

The empty arrangement leaves room for the collector to choose a separate driver, patient or nearby medical personnel where the figures fit. Those additions should remain identified by their own release codes.

The WH historical overview provides the wider setting for the ambulance and medical subjects.

Why this quieter version belongs

An unoccupied vehicle suggests waiting or preparation rather than an evacuation already underway. That gives WH088 a different visual role from its populated companion.

Keep the stretcher and its supports visible in a reference view. Together with the grey finish and original absence of figures, they preserve the specific identity of this ambulance when comparing it with the other Kübelwagen releases.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WH088 product record lists a release date of December 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
