The Operation ToyBox catalog · WH016
WH016 combines a forward step with a rifle carried upright at the shoulder. That simple arrangement creates two strong directions: the body moves along the ground while the weapon rises above the helmet.

The silhouette does the identifying
The reference image shows a helmeted German rifleman in field-grey clothing, dark boots and a compact arrangement of equipment. His rectangular base gives the formal marching pose a tidy footprint.
The product record names the action without assigning a particular regiment or parade. A useful catalog entry can therefore concentrate on the pose, clothing and relationship to neighbouring releases.
One figure, several ways to compare
Beside WH014’s at-attention figure, the step becomes more obvious. Beside WH015’s marching officer, the rifle distinguishes the enlisted subject and changes the outline of the upper body.
These comparisons help when sorting loose figures. Similar colours and helmets can make the three releases seem interchangeable until the legs, hands and weapon position are examined together.
A formal scene needs breathing room
A straight line may suit the figure, but the bases need enough separation to keep the raised rifles from overlapping in the main viewing angle. A plain background also helps the narrow barrel remain visible.
The wider historical setting of the German military is discussed in the WH catalog overview. A formal pose records one aspect of military presentation within that larger history.
The appeal of a restrained release
WH016 brings repetition and rhythm to a display without needing a large scenic accessory. Even a single example can show the contrast between marching and standing poses.
When checking condition, obtain a clear view of the full rifle above the helmet and of the points where the figure meets the base. Those small areas are easy to lose in a distant group photograph, yet they help establish both identity and completeness.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WH016 product record lists April 2015 as the release date and July 2016 as the retirement date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
