King & Country · Napoleonic · NA064
NA064 brings a gun and three dismounted artillerymen into the Napoleonic range. The green carriage and bright barrel are attractive, but the crew’s working positions make it a subject worth examining from behind as well as in front.

Horse artillery still fought on the ground
The product description identifies Horse Artillery of the Guard and a 12-pounder gun with three crewmen. “Horse artillery” describes mobility; it does not mean that the men fired the gun while mounted. Once positioned, a crew had to work around the piece. The miniature shows that dismounted stage, while the horses and transport needed to move a battery lie outside the supplied vignette.
A display about work and observation
NA065’s officer with a telescope is a useful addition off to one side, with NA066’s mounted officer placed farther back. Keep the gun crew visible and leave a route toward the rear for imagined ammunition and movement. A high wall immediately behind the breech makes the working space difficult to understand. The set is strongest when the viewer can see how the men relate to the gun.
Count the components before comparing prices
Check all three artillerymen, the gun, wheels and visible implements against the reference. Ask for a rear view showing the breech and trail. Thin tools and plumes are vulnerable, and a missing crewman can be disguised by a carefully cropped photograph. Record the 12-pounder identification as the manufacturer’s description rather than derive a calibre from the model’s size. The completeness of the team is central to what NA064 contributes to a collection.
