The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD348
DD348 carries an MP40 while wearing a pale blouse, blue skirt, cap and armband. The civilian clothing makes the German weapon especially conspicuous and gives this Resistance subject a different visual identity from uniformed Allied troops.
A photograph is a starting point
The manufacturer describes the figure as inspired by a famous image of a young woman during liberation, without naming her in the product title. It belongs to the visual tradition associated with Simone Segouin, but the miniature should not be treated as a documentary portrait without a specific identification.
The Élysée’s account of Segouin places her famous armed photograph at Chartres on 23 August 1944 and describes her Resistance work as including liaison, carrying weapons and clandestine correspondence. Her story extends beyond the single image.
Look beyond the captured weapon
The blouse, skirt and armband preserve a civilian appearance while the MP40 signals armed participation. That combination is the model’s strongest contrast.
The saved reference shows front and rear views of one figure. It is not a two-woman set, and the second view is particularly useful for checking the sling and clothing.
Why the subject belongs here
The D-Day series reaches into the liberation of France, where local Resistance activity intersects with Allied military operations. DD348 gives that part of the catalog a female armed subject without requiring every story to revolve around a regular infantry unit.
Keep the manufacturer’s code and generic title attached to the miniature, and use documented biographies as historical context rather than quietly assigning one to an unnamed sculpt.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD348 product record lists a release date of July 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
