The white and blue hull gives DD335 a strikingly different appearance from the gray American landing craft. The bow-side marking LCVP 1335 identifies this Royal Navy version, while the open troop compartment retains the familiar Higgins-boat arrangement.
Service identity is visible in the finish
King & Country presents a Royal Navy-operated LCVP, an American-designed craft used alongside British landing craft. The national identity of the operator does not make it an LCA; the LCVP designation remains part of the model’s name.
The painted panels break up the long hull sides, giving the boat a strong visual presence even before figures are added to the interior.
Three sailors belong to the release
The product record specifies a coxswain and two gunners at the .30-caliber machine-gun positions. The ramp can be raised or lowered.
The coxswain appears at the wheel in this version. The sailors’ blue clothing, pale protective hoods and helmets distinguish them from infantry passengers used in larger display photographs.
The paired hull number needs a separate entry
DD336 represents LCVP 1324 and shows a different coxswain pose. Keeping the full set code and hull number together makes the two releases easier to identify than a general title of Royal Navy landing boat.
A two-craft display can therefore show variety without assuming the same individual boat has been duplicated.
DD335 brings color and naval personnel into the Normandy collection. Its appeal is the connection between the three-man crew, the broad open compartment and the movable ramp leading toward the imagined shore.
Additional troops and vehicles are separate display pieces. The complete boat release should be checked for the craft, ramp and specified crew rather than judged by every item visible in an illustrated landing scene.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD335 product record lists a release date of September 2021 and a retirement date of February 2025. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
