The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD242
Seated low with his legs forward, the GI in DD242 bends his attention toward a wounded knee. His rifle remains upright behind the shoulder, but the centre of the scene is the small area between his hands and the injured leg.

The pause is the subject
The product description says he has been struck by a fragment and is looking at the wound before applying a dressing. The figure captures that intervening moment, rather than a medic already at work.
It is a quieter casualty subject than a carried or walking group. The man is alone, and the seated posture makes the interruption to his movement immediately visible.
Read the hands with the face
His head inclines toward the knee while one hand rests nearby. The helmet’s net texture and the folds of the jacket provide detail above, but the viewer’s eye returns to the leg.
The low base and forward boots make the figure wider than his seated height might suggest. A lower photograph gives a clearer sense of the body’s position than a view looking straight down.
A different point in the casualty story
DD241 shows a wounded man receiving help to move. DD245 points the way toward an aid station, while DD246 introduces carried medical supplies. DD242 can stand among those related releases as a man whose next step has not yet happened.
That connection gives the display a sequence of experiences rather than several interchangeable wounded poses. It also leaves room for the uncertainty and waiting that a battlefield medical scene can otherwise miss.
Keep the scene close to the ground
A low wall or modest patch of roadside can provide a setting without concealing the hands and knee. Tall accessories will quickly overwhelm a figure of this height.
The archive gives a retirement month without a complete year, so the catalog does not invent a full retirement date. The useful identifiers remain DD242, the seated pose, the upright rifle and the attention directed toward the wounded knee.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD242 product record lists a release date of October 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
