The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD241
A wounded GI rests an arm across his companion’s shoulders as the two make their way together. The pale head bandage draws the eye first, but the close relationship between their bodies is what explains DD241 at a glance.

The set is about the journey to help
The release description identifies a soldier assisting his buddy toward an aid station. The wounded man leans into the support, while his companion carries the rifle low and keeps the pair moving.
The scene works because the two figures share one purpose. Neither is posed for the viewer; their attention belongs to the immediate task of getting the casualty somewhere he can be treated.
An aid station was one stage in a larger system
The U.S. Army’s history of 1st Infantry Division medics on D-Day describes company aidmen, battalion aid stations and collecting companies moving casualties onward toward divisional care.
DD241 concentrates on the smaller human step before that system becomes visible: a man who can still move, but needs another person beside him. The figures are anonymous and are not assigned to the specific unit in the historical article.
The bandage and the rifle pull the eye in opposite directions
The white dressing sits high around the wounded man’s head. The brown rifle angles downward near the other soldier’s leg, stretching the composition toward the base.
A front-quarter view shows both details while preserving the supporting arm between the men. From some side angles, one body can hide too much of the other.
DD245 supplies a direction
The companion Back Thataways figure points the pair toward the aid station. Placing him a little ahead creates an exchange without requiring a hospital building or a full medical detachment.
DD241 gives the DD collection a scene of assistance amid the action subjects. Its appeal comes from that visible dependence between two soldiers and the forward movement they manage together.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD241 product record lists a release date of October 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
