The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD219
DD219 walks with his Garand across the front of his body, his head turned and his weight shifting onto the forward foot. The pose gives the 101st grouping a straightforward movement figure with plenty of uniform detail.

The clothing deserves a closer look
The Airborne Museum preserves Joseph Fitt’s reinforced M42 jump jacket, worn during the fighting at La Fière in June 1944. Fitt served with the 82nd’s 505th Parachute Infantry, so the artifact is a comparison for airborne clothing rather than this figure’s personal identity.
It is useful to see how added fabric and large pockets changed a real jacket before looking back at the folds, seams and contrasting areas painted on the miniature.
The rifle stays below the face
The weapon forms a shallow diagonal across the waist, leaving the turned head visible. The brown stock adds warmth among the lighter jacket and darker trouser areas.
The step is less exaggerated than a running figure’s. That restraint lets the sculpt connect naturally with men standing, checking a map or preparing to move.
A collection needs the intervals too
DD211’s officer and DD213’s kneeling rifleman can supply a pause at one end of a small scene. DD219 provides the movement leading toward or away from them.
The release record identifies the 101st Airborne but does not name a regiment, a route or a specific day. Keep the division with the figure while letting the display arrangement remain a collecting choice.
DD219 belongs in the D-Day retrospective because the airborne story continues after landing and between engagements. A walking man can give a group direction without making every part of it an action vignette.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD219 product record lists a release date of August 2013 and a retirement date of August 2016. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
