The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD216

DD216 moves with a bent forward knee and his rifle held low across the body. The pose feels careful and measured, with more attention in the head and shoulders than in any large dramatic gesture.

The ground campaign began after the jump

The 82nd Airborne’s Normandy report describes its revised objectives around Sainte-Mère-Église and the Merderet crossings. Capturing places on the ground was the purpose behind the airborne arrival.

This walking figure is useful for showing that subsequent work. The release does not depict an open parachute or an aircraft doorway; its subject has already landed and is moving as infantry.

The change of level is subtle

The leading leg lowers the body slightly. The rifle points downward at a shallow angle, leaving the face unobstructed beneath the netted helmet.

The contrasting knee areas and brown boots help the stride read clearly. Equipment around the waist adds weight without requiring a very wide stance.

A patrol can be built from differences

DD212’s scout contributes a raised halt signal, while DD218’s Thompson gunner supplies another weapon shape. DD216 provides a quieter movement between those more conspicuous features.

The three releases share an 82nd identification in their product records. A small line following a bend in a lane can connect them without placing every figure squarely side by side.

Why a restrained pose matters

An entire collection of maximum-action figures can leave few opportunities to show anticipation. This man supplies that missing interval through a slight lean and a lowered rifle.

DD216 belongs in the airborne catalog as a specific advancing sculpt. His value to a display lies in how readily the pose connects to other figures while retaining enough individual movement to avoid looking like a duplicate in a column.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD216 product record lists a release date of August 2013 and a retirement date of October 2016. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
