King & Country DD097 Two-Man Patrol: Cautious Movement in the Big Red One Group

The Normandy setting

The surrounding Big Red One sequence places its American infantry in the campaign beyond the beaches. The D-Day historical overview follows that transition from invasion to the fighting inland.

DD097 remains a representative patrol rather than a named event. The figures leave the precise surroundings open to the collector’s interpretation.

Let the movement remain subtle

A narrow piece of road or open ground can make the two men’s direction clear. Their cautious body positions do not need an added explosion or a visible opponent to explain the scene.

Compare the pair with DD096. One set is an exchange of information between men standing close together; this one turns their attention into forward movement.

A small unit within the collection

DD097 is useful because it combines two related poses in one release while retaining different equipment roles. Its original reference image helps keep the sergeant and rifleman associated, even if they are later separated into different parts of a larger diorama.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD097 product record lists a release date of May 2008 and a retirement date of April 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
