The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD086

DD086 bends forward with his rifle held low, the legs caught in a running stride. He gives the airborne group a sense of movement between positions instead of another fixed firing line.

The pose explains itself

The archived description identifies a 101st Airborne rifleman moving to a new location. The photograph shows the torso tipped forward and the weapon kept across the front of the thighs.

It is a small sculptural choice with a large effect. The figure reads as passing through a scene, while a kneeling rifleman tends to establish a position within it.

A campaign made of many movements

The D-Day series history follows the action beyond the initial landing. Infantry figures can represent movement, observation and regrouping as well as the more familiar moments of firing.

DD086 does not name a particular road or action. Its interest lies in making one of those ordinary movements visible within the miniature range.

Compare him with DD085

Both figures are identified with the 101st in their release descriptions. DD085 stands with the long BAR, while DD086 carries a rifle through a low, forward stride.

The pair demonstrates how different equipment and body position can vary a small group without changing its overall historical subject.

A little open ground helps

The direction of travel should remain easy to read. A clear strip of ground in front lets the legs and low-held rifle retain their shape.

DD086 belongs in the collection because movement is part of the airborne story, and because this exact running pose needs a reliable code-and-photo reference when figures are stored or sold separately.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD086 product record lists a release date of June 2007 and a retirement date of August 2009. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
