King & Country DD043 Infantry Patrol: Four Different Ways to Carry the Load

The ground beyond the beachhead

The U.S. Army’s Normandy history follows the landings into the effort to establish and expand the Allied foothold. A patrol group brings the collection into that wider ground campaign.

For display, the different carried loads create variety within a shared direction. A staggered path makes those differences easier to see than a perfectly straight row with overlapping equipment.

Compare the whole group

Four walking GIs are a common subject, so the original combination matters. The shoulder-carried tube is an especially useful clue, but compare the other three poses as well.

DD043 belongs in the catalog as a complete patrol composition. It adds movement and carried equipment to an infantry collection, and provides a reference for recognizing the group when the figures appear without their box. The saved photograph is more useful for that task than a seller’s broad “US infantry” label.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD043 product record lists a retirement date of September 2006. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
