King & Country AL065 Corporal with Guidon: A Squadron Identity Above the Saddle

A unit connection needs a careful label

The 4th Light Horse Regiment was one of the two regiments involved in the mounted charge into Beersheba. The Australian War Memorial’s overview places that action within the wider attack on the Ottoman line.

The miniature’s unit reference does not establish that this precise guidon was carried in this pose during the charge. A useful label can state the product’s intended squadron identity while keeping the scene’s presentation separate from proof of a specific incident.

Let the guidon organize the collection

I would give the banner a clear background and place the nearby riders so their raised weapons do not obscure it. A standard-bearing figure can make a small group feel coherent, but only if the identifying feature remains visible.

AL065 belongs in the catalog because it introduces a more local level of identity within the mounted force. It gives collectors something to explore between a generic trooper and a famous commander, and provides a natural focal point for a thoughtfully labelled group.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived AL065 product record lists July 2014 as the release date and July 2021 as the retirement date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
