King & Country AL060 Sergeant Firing Revolver: A Sidearm in the Mounted Ranks

Leadership beyond the named commanders

A military collection often gives the most attention to famous generals. A sergeant represents a different level of responsibility, close to the men and the immediate action. The figure need not be attached to a named historical individual to bring that role into the display.

For the wider mounted setting, the Australian War Memorial’s Light Horse exhibition catalog offers a useful route through the formation’s wartime story. It places individual subjects within a force whose work extended beyond a single charge.

Where the short weapon helps

A revolver leaves more open space around the rider than an extended rifle. I would use that difference beside a long-weapon subject, letting the two outlines complement each other rather than overlap.

AL060 belongs in the collection for the combination of rank, equipment and action. It can help a small mounted group suggest several people with different roles, rather than a repeated row of identical troopers. The catalog precision matters too: this is the sergeant’s release, with its own code and reference image.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived AL060 product record lists November 2013 as the release date and July 2021 as the retirement date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
