King & Country · Napoleonic · NA072
NA072 brings the green-coated Legion soldier down onto one knee with the weapon at his shoulder. The low firing line and dark uniform make a strong contrast with the red-coated British infantry elsewhere in the collection.

The coat does not settle the allegiance
The King’s German Legion served in the British army’s wider war effort. The German name and green uniform can confuse a collector sorting figures without boxes. Keep the full unit title with NA072 rather than using a vague label such as “German rifleman.” Bexhill Museum’s Legion history supplies the institutional background.
Terrain should support the pose
A low bank or the edge of a wall can give the firing figure a setting, provided the weapon remains visible and clear. Do not bury the bent leg behind scenery if the aim is to show why the pose differs from the standing Legion subjects. A slight side angle preserves the shoulder, stock and forward hand in one readable view.
What to ask a seller for
Request a level photograph of the complete weapon and a second view showing the headgear and pack. Dark paint can conceal small chips in shadow, so even lighting matters. The gray trousers provide another useful comparison point. Confirm the exact pose before relying on a seller’s broad claim that the figure belongs to the Waterloo range.
