King & Country · First World War · FW007

The large black, white and red flag makes FW007 easy to find in a cabinet. Its over-the-shoulder carry gives the figure movement, while the long staff creates a much wider footprint than the small base suggests.

Look at the flag before the number

The saved photograph shows an Imperial German war-flag design, with a prominent cross and central emblem. It should not be described simply as a modern German national flag. The original product record places the officer with the 13th Bavarian Rifles and calls the banner a German battle flag. That establishes the intended catalog association without proving every detail of a specific historical colour party.

Ceremony belongs in a wartime collection

A marching flag figure records the public and regimental identity that soldiers took into war. It is most convincing as part of a departure, review or movement scene. The clean uniform and conspicuous banner convey that selected moment more readily than a late-war trench assault. A collection can include both, provided the labels explain the change of setting rather than suggest that all FW releases show the same day.

The staff is the critical part

Ask for a full-width photograph of a loose example. Cropped listings may conceal a shortened staff or damaged finial. Inspect the point where the hand grips the pole and the junction between pole and flag. Compare the painted design on both faces if possible: broad touch-ups can erase the fine black lines. Store it with clearance on either side, because the pole can catch on neighbouring figures even when their bases do not touch.
