The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD417

The aerial rises above the soldier while the handset brings one hand toward his face. DD417 makes the signaller’s communications task visible within the Gold Beach infantry group.

The radio changes both height and posture

The manufacturer identifies the equipment as Wireless Set No. 18. The backpack and aerial extend the body’s outline, while the handset separates the figure’s activity from simply carrying a rifle.

The release also identifies a No. 4 Mk I rifle with its spike bayonet. Both the communications equipment and the personal weapon belong in the reference description.

A figure can connect the scene to somewhere else

A signaller implies people beyond the edge of the base. An officer or senior NCO nearby can make the relationship clear without inventing the actual words of a message.

The radio is not merely another pack. Give the handset side an unobstructed view so its function remains readable.

Two projecting details deserve attention

The aerial and bayonet both extend beyond the compact body. Clear photographs should show them separately rather than allowing one to disappear against a busy background.

The June 2026 record identifies an anonymous signaller within the Gold Beach collection. It does not establish a particular transmission, unit headquarters or exact range achieved in the represented terrain.

DD417 belongs in the catalog because it adds communication to the advance. The combination of radio equipment, handset action and carried rifle creates a distinct supporting role that can organize the nearby figures into more than a collection of firing poses.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD417 product record lists a release date of June 2026. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
