The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD374
A neatly dressed Frenchman raises a drink while holding a bottle in his other hand. DD374 turns a small toast into the focal point of a liberation scene.
A celebration at human scale
The hat, jacket and light trousers give him a different look from the working waiter and the more exuberant man with both arms raised. The glass is a modest gesture, but it is easy to understand when it faces the arriving soldiers.
The release description calls the drink beer. It does not identify a brand, a particular establishment or a named civilian, so the scene remains a representative welcome.
Let the café edge do some work
A pavement, doorway or simple table nearby can explain why he has a drink in hand. None needs to overwhelm the figure or turn the small toast into a large scenic production.
The glass is also one of the details most easily lost in a distant photograph. A close view of both hands is useful when comparing an example with the reference.
Different gestures make a crowd believable
A liberation display benefits from people reacting at different levels of intensity. This man can stand beside someone waving a flag without duplicating the same movement.
His toast adds a pause within the larger celebration, giving the eye a quieter place to settle among raised arms and bright banners.
Introduced in June 2024, DD374 belongs with the French civilian releases that surround the tanks with local life. Its appeal is the small, readable interaction implied by a glass held up toward a passing soldier.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD374 product record lists a release date of June 2024. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
