The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD373
Both arms are lifted high, the mouth open in a cheer. DD373 needs no flag or weapon to communicate its subject: a French civilian greeting the arriving Allies.
The gesture reaches above the crowd
The open stance and raised hands create a wide outline. The patterned tie and striped trousers supply visual interest beneath the gesture, keeping the figure from becoming just a pair of arms above a base.
King & Country describes him welcoming the first Americans. The title itself offers the broader greeting “Long Live the Allies,” which is worth keeping intact in the catalog.
Where should he look?
Place him where his gaze and open arms face the arriving soldiers or vehicle. A figure cheering toward an empty wall can make an otherwise carefully arranged scene feel accidental.
A slight gap between him and neighboring civilians helps the silhouette remain readable. He can stand near the front of a crowd because the raised arms leave space through which other figures can still be seen.
A representative civilian, not an identified portrait
The June 2024 release provides no personal name or specific street. The excitement is the subject, rather than a claim to reproduce one photographed man.
That makes him useful across different liberation-themed arrangements, provided their broader place and date are chosen from historical evidence.
In the collection, DD373 supplies an unmistakable welcome. Beside a more restrained waiter, a family or a veteran, the exuberant pose adds variety to the crowd instead of asking every civilian to celebrate in exactly the same way.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD373 product record lists a release date of June 2024. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
