The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS077

A large frame aerial rises over the open halftrack, turning communications equipment into the model’s most recognizable feature. The figures gathered inside and around the forward compartment make WS077 a command scene as much as a vehicle model.

The aerial changes the silhouette

The broad rectangular frame surrounds the crew space above the camouflage body. It gives the vehicle a distinctive outline even when viewed alongside other German halftracks.

An elevated three-quarter view helps reveal the interior figures beneath it. The structure is visually prominent, so clear photographs of its corners and supports are useful when comparing examples.

The name requires historical context

The release is named for Kurt Meyer and was introduced within King & Country’s Germans in Normandy grouping. Meyer’s postwar record should accompany that identification.

Canada’s 1986 Commission of Inquiry on War Criminals report recounts his trial by Canadian forces and death sentence, later commuted to imprisonment. The model’s command-vehicle theme does not erase the criminal history of the officer used to name it.

The original limited release

The August 2006 announcement gives a production run of 1,250 sets and uses the full WS077(SL) designation. Listings that omit the parenthetical letters may still refer to this same release.

The archived text does not enumerate the figures individually, so the reference arrangement is the most useful starting point for a contents comparison. Request views into the interior as well as exterior photographs.

Within the catalog, WS077 offers a distinctive communications vehicle and a named Normandy subject. Its interest is strongest when the model’s design, original release information and historical context are kept together.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS077 product record lists a release date of August 2006. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
