The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD347
DD347 gives all three officers raised hands, but their clothing and faces keep them from becoming copies. One wears a peaked cap and long coat, while the other two are bareheaded. The shared surrender gesture connects three distinct figures.
A uniform cannot establish innocence
The old product description makes reassuring generalizations about regular German officers. The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s military history resources document the Wehrmacht’s participation in Nazi crimes, including crimes against civilians and prisoners.
That broader history does not establish the conduct of these anonymous sculpted men. It does mean that their service branch cannot be used as proof of good behavior, just as the model cannot supply an individual conviction or biography.
What the set actually shows
The subject is capture. The raised hands create a common upper line, while the coat and different headgear break up the lower shapes. No French captor is included in this three-figure release.
The gendarme DD346 and other Resistance subjects can be added separately to create a Liberation scene. The relationship comes from the display rather than from a documented incident named in the product record.
A change of power in miniature
These figures broaden the catalog beyond advancing and firing soldiers. Their stillness and empty raised hands make surrender visible without needing a vehicle or a large scenic backdrop.
For completeness, check all three officers and their distinct clothing. The correct trio matters more than a generic listing for three German prisoners.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD347 product record lists a release date of July 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
