DD342(B) stretches the British infantry group horizontally. The gunner lies behind his Bren with the weapon supported at the front, producing a low shape that contrasts strongly with the standing riflemen.
A familiar weapon seen from ground level
The curved magazine rises over the receiver while the barrel and front support project ahead of the body. Those features make the Bren identifiable even though much of the figure sits close to the ground.
The National Army Museum’s Sale Collection training photographs include men practicing with the Bren in Britain in 1941. They provide useful historical context for a pose built around settling behind a support weapon.
The base supports the action
The pale scenic ground lies beneath the front of the figure and gun. This is the sand version, intended to sit naturally with the British beach infantry; DD342(G) is the grass counterpart.
The extended body means the figure occupies more shelf depth than its low height first suggests. Give the boots and muzzle room rather than forcing it into the same footprint as a standing man.
Make the changing posture visible
DD340(B), the advancing Bren gunner, provides a useful comparison. One figure moves with the weapon; the other is settled behind it.
DD342(B) is the individual prone gunner, with no separate ammunition carrier listed in the release. Its collecting interest lies in the recognizable Bren, low firing posture and sand-base version, all clearly visible in the reference photograph.

Sager’s archived DD342(B) product record lists a release date of September 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
