King & Country AL033 Up and Over: The Sandbag Obstacle Becomes Part of the Set

A battle remembered through movement

The War Memorial’s account of Beersheba describes men of the 4th Light Horse dismounting after crossing the first trench line. The mounted approach and the fighting on foot were connected parts of the same encounter.

AL033 isolates the crossing itself. Its sandbags give the sculpt a clear obstacle, while the history reminds us that getting past a defensive line did not necessarily end the fighting.

A centerpiece for a small shelf

The release has enough built-in scenery to stand alone with a simple label. If used in a larger display, continue the ground around its base rather than burying the supplied defense behind taller walls.

A side view is the most revealing: it shows how the horse passes over the barrier and how the rider follows the animal’s movement. Ask for that angle when comparing a secondhand example, along with a clear view of the legs and sandbag structure. The appeal of AL033 lies in this complete visual sentence—an approach, an obstacle and a crossing, all held in one ambitious pose.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived AL033 product record lists a release date of July 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
