The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS118

The three figures in WS118 lean and crouch at different levels as they move forward. Their bodies establish a shared direction, while the mixture of helmets, cap and clothing prevents the group from becoming repetitive.

The NCO belongs with two riflemen

The archived description identifies a three-man group that includes a submachine-gun-carrying NCO. The saved photograph shows the men in separate poses, with the central figure lower than the man at the right.

The release is part of the Wehrmacht infantry grouping around WS117–120. The catalog keeps that service distinction visible alongside the WS manufacturer code.

The movement is in the knees and shoulders

None of the three is simply standing at attention. Bent legs, lowered heads and forward shoulders carry the movement, while the weapons stay integrated with the body shapes.

That makes a side-quarter view particularly useful. It reveals the forward lean that can be less obvious when all three are photographed straight on.

A little irregularity improves the group

Spacing the men unevenly can make the scene feel less like a product lineup. Keep each face and weapon visible, and avoid placing the tallest figure directly in front of the lowest one.

The figures can suggest movement around a wall or across open ground. Those are display choices; the archive does not supply a named battlefield for the scene.

Compare movement with readiness

WS117 concentrates on two men waiting and preparing. WS118 extends the same broad infantry theme into a three-person advance, giving a collection another moment to represent.

The WS retrospective places these German subjects in their wider historical setting. Within that framework, the set earns its place through the variety of posture and clothing, and through the way three independent sculpts can read as a coordinated group.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS118 product record lists a release date of July 2008 and a retirement date of May 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
