The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS117

WS117 pairs a low kneeling figure with a second man bent forward over his equipment. Their shared attention creates the sense of a brief pause before something happens beyond the edge of the display.

The release is a Wehrmacht subject

The original announcement identifies two Wehrmacht Panzergrenadiers, one watching the enemy’s approach and the other preparing a grenade. That service attribution belongs in the categories even though the manufacturer sold the set under a WS code.

The scene is anonymous. No named unit, village or date is supplied by the short record.

Different clothing breaks up the pair

The saved image shows a mixture of camouflage and plainer clothing, with different headgear shapes. That variation helps separate the men even though both occupy relatively low poses.

The kneeling figure looks outward while the second man’s attention stays closer to his hands. Their differing focus is more interesting than two identical gestures facing the same direction.

A low group needs a clear foreground

Place the pair where their upper bodies and hands remain visible. A high hedge or scenic rim can hide much of the activity that gives the title its meaning.

A modest gap between the figures keeps their outlines distinct. Additional men from WS118 can extend the scene, but they should not crowd the original two into an unreadable cluster.

The title leaves the next moment open

Get Ready describes anticipation rather than an outcome. That makes the set flexible for a display without requiring an invented story about a successful attack or a named opponent.

The WS catalog history provides the broader campaign context. This release’s contribution is the small interaction between a watcher and a man occupied with preparation, with enough contrast in dress and height to sustain a vignette of its own.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS117 product record lists a release date of July 2008 and a retirement date of May 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
