The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS101
WS101 has a low, enclosed body, front wheels and a compact run of tracks behind them. A half-body commander looks out of the upper hatch, adding a human presence without interrupting the vehicle’s rounded roofline.

The release’s particular assignment
King & Country’s May 2007 dispatch paired this Sd.Kfz.252 with the trolley carrying WS100’s proposed Rammjäger aircraft. The vehicle wears camouflage and Luftwaffe markings for that presentation.
The aircraft and its trolley are separate from WS101. A combined photograph can make them look like one large set, but the two codes record different purchases.
A historical vehicle in a speculative scene
The manufacturer describes the underlying halftrack type as an ammunition and supply transport. Its use beside WS100 belongs to the model maker’s imagined aircraft scene; the announcement does not establish a documented operational unit using this exact combination.
That distinction allows the vehicle to be enjoyed on its own merits while keeping the catalog’s historical claims proportionate to the evidence.
The roof and tracks tell different stories
The upper body presents broad curved and sloping surfaces for the camouflage pattern. Below, overlapping wheels and the track run create much smaller repeated details.
A side-quarter photograph shows the contrast especially well. From directly ahead, the front wheels can dominate and hide the tracked portion that makes the vehicle distinctive.
Finding room for a small transporter
Without the aircraft, the halftrack is a compact support subject. With the trolley attached in a display, the overall scene becomes much longer and needs clear space around the towbar.
The commander’s original partial figure is worth keeping associated with the vehicle. Replacing it with a generic tanker can alter the intended Luftwaffe character of this particular release.
WS101 earns a place in the WS retrospective through both its mechanical shape and its unusual connection to the series’ aviation experiment.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS101 product record lists a release date of June 2007 and a retirement date of August 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
