The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS100

A tiny green aircraft sits on a wooden transport trolley in WS100, with two Luftwaffe figures beside it. This is one of the WS range’s more unusual departures: a manufacturer’s depiction of a proposed weapon, rather than a documented operational combat aircraft.

Separate the model from the proposal

King & Country’s May 2007 announcement calls the subject a Focke-Wulf Rammjäger project and places it within the regime’s search for supposed war-changing weapons. It describes a young pilot in the cockpit, an instructor and a guard.

The announcement is evidence of what King & Country intended to sell. It is not an engineering archive proving that this exact aircraft flew, entered service or carried out the mission described in the sales narrative. Claims about its proposed pilot arrangements and escape equipment should be treated accordingly.

The trolley is half the composition

The long towbar reaches forward below the aircraft’s nose. Small wheels and the timber-coloured cradle keep the machine above the ground, giving the display the appearance of something being moved or prepared.

The transparent canopy allows the seated pilot to remain part of the scene. Together with the two standing men, that makes three represented people, although only two stand independently outside the aircraft.

Why label it as a what-if subject?

A catalog can include speculative designs without confusing them with service equipment. Making that distinction visible is especially useful when a striking model appears among familiar tanks and trucks, all photographed in the same style.

The young pilot figure also changes the human implications of the manufacturer’s story. It should not be used to romanticize the Nazi regime’s exploitation of youth or turn an unverified scenario into an adventurous biography.

The companion vehicle is separate

WS101 supplies the halftrack marketed to pull the trolley. It can complete the manufacturer’s imagined ground scene, but it is a different release.

WS100 belongs in a collecting retrospective as an example of the range exploring speculative aviation. Its unusual shape is interesting enough without presenting the sales premise as established operational history.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS100 product record lists a release date of June 2007 and a retirement date of August 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
