The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD136
DD136 takes three British tank crewmen out of their hatches and puts their everyday gestures on view. One carries a jerrycan, while the others handle smaller objects; all three wear the practical clothing that gives the group its character.

The people normally hidden by the vehicle
A tank model often reveals only a commander’s upper body. This release reverses that relationship. The full figures allow the viewer to see the overalls, belts, boots and different headgear that would otherwise disappear inside the hull.
The saved photograph shows two black berets and a helmet with goggles. The small variation is enough to keep the trio from looking like three versions of the same standing man.
Alongside the Firefly
The archived announcement suggests these crewmen as companions for the Firefly. DD135 provides one such vehicle in the D-Day range, but DD136 remains a separate three-figure release.
The D-Day catalog’s historical overview places British armour within the fighting after the landings. The crew group adds a pause around the machinery without claiming to reproduce a particular regiment’s documented halt.
The jerrycan gives the scene a task
The can creates a strong rectangular shape beside one man’s leg. His raised hand draws attention in another direction, while the other figures appear occupied with their own smaller activities.
A loose cluster beside a vehicle lets those gestures remain visible. It also leaves the tank’s features accessible, rather than lining the men up directly across its front.
Why the trio belongs in the collection
DD136 gives the armour story a human scale away from the turret. The collecting distinction is the original three-man combination, with its different headgear and carried objects. A tank appearing beside these men in a display should remain separately identified; the figures already form a complete catalog subject.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD136 product record lists a release date of May 2010 and a retirement date of May 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
