King & Country DD132 US Beachmaster Set: The Shore Team Looking Back Toward the Water

The beach needed organizing

A Naval History and Heritage Command photograph dated 15 June 1944 records a beachmaster unit directing incoming landing craft during the buildup.

That later image illustrates the continuing role after the first assault. It is historical context for the set, not a claim that DD132 copies that exact photograph.

A display facing the other way

Most landing infantry faces inland. A beachmaster group can direct attention back toward the sea and the next craft approaching.

That gives a larger scene more than one direction of activity and makes the shoreline feel like a working transfer point.

Why the set belongs in the collection

DD132 records a naval support role often overshadowed by the assault troops. Its original two-man combination and substantial equipment make it more than a pair of spare sailors.

Keep the lamp and support arrangement documented with the figures so that a later display or sale does not lose the release’s defining feature.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD132 product record lists a release date of May 2010 and a retirement date of May 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
