The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD120

DD120 bends and turns with a grenade held in one hand, creating a more compact and twisted pose than a fully upright throwing figure. The carried equipment follows the movement across his back and waist.

The release’s Canadian Scottish identity

The archived note identifies the Canadian infantry in this sequence with the Canadian Scottish Regiment of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. That belongs in the catalog alongside the more general grenade-throwing subject.

The Juno Beach Centre’s landing map places the formation within the Canadian assault area.

The title names an activity

Grenadier describes the action pose here. It should not be taken to mean the figure belongs to a different regiment simply because another military unit uses Grenadiers in its name.

The source identifies a Mills bomb, while the photograph supplies the exact hand and body arrangement of the miniature.

Movement across the base

The bent knees and angled torso make the figure occupy the ground asymmetrically. A front-quarter view shows the grenade hand and the turn of the shoulders together.

That gives the single figure a different visual rhythm from DD113’s two aimed-firing men.

Why the individual release matters

DD120 adds another activity to the Canadian sequence without repeating a multi-figure group. It is useful both as a distinct sculpt and as a reminder that similar Allied equipment can appear under different national identities.

The product record names no individual soldier or specific incident. A chosen display setting remains the collector’s interpretation of this representative pose.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD120 product record lists a release date of July 2009 and a retirement date of November 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
