The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS056

WS056 combines two ammunition-handling figures with a third man in a different, upright activity. The group complements Set A while keeping a separate three-man identity.

The photograph resolves copied wording

The archived page repeats a reference to WS055, but its title identifies Gun Crew Set B. The saved image shows the distinct WS056 trio and is the better guide to their actual poses.

This is one of the small catalog inconsistencies that makes a figure-by-figure reference worthwhile.

The work extends beyond the barrel

Two men lean toward the ammunition equipment, creating a low line of activity. The third figure adds height and a different gesture, so the set does not read as three identical loaders.

The WS series overview supplies the broader wartime context. The figures are identified as Waffen-SS artillery personnel rather than a named historical battery.

The gun is separately numbered

WS057 supplies the 88mm gun, and WS055 is the other crew group. A combined display can use all three releases, but their original contents should remain distinct in a collection record.

The photograph here concentrates on Set B, making it useful for matching loose figures that have spent years around a gun model.

Why a second crew entry matters

The additional poses make a larger artillery scene more varied. More practically, WS056 preserves exactly which trio was offered under this code.

Keep the headgear, carried rounds and individual stances visible in reference photographs; those details are more dependable identifiers than a general label such as German gun crew.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS056 product record lists a release date of May 2004 and a retirement date of November 2005. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
