The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS051

WS051 steadies an MG42 over the shoulder of a second figure, with a prone observer and kneeling rifleman completing the group. The unusual relationship between the first two men makes the set recognizable immediately.

The manufacturer points back to WS010

The archived release explicitly presents WS051 as a later interpretation of the earlier kneeling machine-gun group. That makes it a useful piece of the range’s own collecting history.

A retrospective can compare the two releases’ figures, finish and arrangement without assuming they are the same sculpts under different numbers.

Four figures, one central relationship

The gunner and supporting man form the highest point of the composition. The observer lies in front with binoculars, while the rifleman adds another kneeling pose.

The saved photograph shows how those heights fit together. The group needs enough open space for the prone man to remain visible.

A sculpted moment rather than a universal practice

The shoulder-supported arrangement is a defining feature of this miniature. The catalog records that pose without presenting it as the standard answer to every historical machine-gun situation.

The WS historical overview supplies the broader military and organizational context.

Why the later version deserves its own entry

WS051 shows King & Country returning to a recognizable idea and giving it another treatment. Collectors benefit from seeing those versions independently rather than merging every similar gun team into one record.

Keep all four figures associated with the full code, particularly when they are separated from their original box and placed among other camouflage-clad infantry.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS051 product record lists a release date of November 2003 and a retirement date of January 2009. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
