The title describes Wehrmacht subjects
The archived record identifies the MG34 gunner and three Wehrmacht soldiers. The WS series label should not erase that explicit description.
This entry therefore retains the WS catalog association while also classifying the figures with Wehrmacht infantry. Product families and historical military organizations are different kinds of information.
The machine gun anchors the group
In the saved photograph, the low gun position draws the eye toward the ground. A kneeling observer and two taller men give the set variation above it.
The sandbags help define the gunner’s place within the composition. They are part of what should be compared when checking the original arrangement.
More than four separate silhouettes
The figures do not all repeat the same action. Their different weapons, hand positions and body heights make the group read as related activity around the machine gun.
The WS historical overview gives the broader wartime setting. The short source record does not identify a particular regiment or action for this set.
Why keep the group documented?
Early infantry sets can become difficult to reconstruct after their figures have been separated into larger displays. WS038’s four-man reference preserves the original combination.

Sager’s archived WS038 product record lists a retirement date of October 2007. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
