The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD092

DD092 places the M24 Chaffee in olive drab with three crew figures and visible stowage. Its low hull and relatively large turret give it a very different outline from the taller Stuart light tanks.

The date matters more than the series name

The Chaffee belongs to the closing phase of the European war. The Tank Museum records its first wartime use in the winter of 1944; it was not a tank landing on the Normandy beaches in June.

The DD label is therefore a collecting-series umbrella. A display set in early 1945 fits this release’s intended period more closely than the initial invasion.

A new shape for the light tank

The M24 replaced the older Stuart design with a lower profile, torsion-bar suspension and a 75mm gun. The Tank Museum describes the design’s Cadillac origins and its continuing service after the Second World War.

Those changes explain why the miniature looks more like a compact later-generation tank than a lightly altered Stuart.

The olive-drab release

The archived product description distinguishes DD092 from a winter version and names its three crew figures. The saved photograph shows the crew, boxes and other stowage that help identify this particular offering.

Compare the actual finish and contents rather than relying on a listing that simply says “King & Country Chaffee.”

Why it belongs in the collection

DD092 lets the catalog follow Allied armour beyond Normandy. It also makes a useful historical comparison: the small-tank category changed considerably during the war, even though the broad role remained recognizable.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD092 product record lists a release date of March 2008 and a retirement date of June 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
