The Operation ToyBox catalog · WH073

WH073 extends the artillery group with two different low-level activities. One man holds a short rammer, while the other works close to a shell in the role identified by the archive as a shell fuser.

An addition to an existing group

The original description links the pair with WH062, the 10.5cm howitzer, and the previously released gun crews. That makes “Additional” in the title meaningful: these figures expand an artillery scene rather than replace the earlier crew sets.

The saved photograph is useful for distinguishing the short rammer from the longer upright tool carried in WH064.

Why another pair changes the scene

More figures are not automatically more informative. Here, the interest comes from adding different actions and heights around the same gun.

The kneeling figure keeps attention near the ammunition, while the man holding the short rammer supplies another clear line of movement across the group.

A catalog of related, separate releases

WH063 is the officer, WH064 and WH065 the earlier gun-crew pairs, and WH073 this later addition. Their individual entries make a large artillery display easier to understand.

The WH overview provides the wider historical context for the artillery subjects. These figures remain representative personnel, without a named battery established in the product record.

What makes this pair identifiable?

Look at both the hand positions and the tools. The general phrase “two German artillerymen” is too broad to preserve the original combination.

WH073 belongs in the catalog because it records specific supporting activity around the howitzer. Keep the two figures associated in the collection record even if the display places them on different sides of the gun.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WH073 product record lists a release date of August 2017 and a retirement date of December 2022. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
