The Operation ToyBox catalog · WH045

WH045 lies at ground level, with the officer’s cap, uniform and equipment making the figure recognizable even in a low pose. It is a casualty subject whose small footprint can easily hide its separate catalog identity.

The title varies across the record

The archived page calls the release a dead general’s ADC in its title and a lying dead German officer in the description. It associates the figure with the Arnhem ambush scene but does not establish an individual name.

The catalog therefore retains the confirmed officer-and-casualty identity without supplying a biography that the source does not support.

Separate from WH044

The staff car and Kussin scene have their own code, WH044. This ground-level figure was a separate release, even when photographs or secondhand listings place the two together.

That distinction matters when checking what a listing includes. A complete staff-car release and a larger display containing the extra officer are different combinations.

A casualty changes the tone

Within the WH historical catalog, the figure contributes the consequences of fighting. Its subject deserves the same attention to identification and context as a standing personality portrait or vehicle.

Placed beside the associated car, the low pose expands the scene across the ground. Displayed elsewhere, it remains a representative dead German officer rather than proof of a different named event.

Why the photograph is particularly useful

Prone figures can be difficult to identify from a cropped listing. The cap, body position and equipment arrangement together help distinguish WH045 from other casualties.

Keep the code with the reference image, especially if the figure is stored with the larger Arnhem set. That preserves the original release boundary while allowing the display to tell a connected story.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WH045 product record lists a release date of October 2015 and a retirement date of September 2017. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
