King & Country DD046 D-Day Paratrooper Set: An Early Airborne Idea Revisited

Two divisions in one small group

The U.S. Army’s D-Day account places both airborne divisions behind Utah Beach. Their scattered landings provide the broad historical setting for a mixed airborne subject, although the miniature does not document a named encounter between these four men.

A useful comparison across a collection

Collectors interested in the development of the range can compare DD046 with the earliest airborne figures. Keep the original identities intact rather than sorting every similarly equipped paratrooper into one undifferentiated group.

The set belongs in the catalog for two reasons: it represents airborne ground fighting, and it records the maker revisiting an established subject. That makes it a particularly useful reference for understanding how the D-Day collection grew.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD046 product record lists June 2004 as the release date and January 2009 as the retirement date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
