The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS355

A map connects the three men in WS355. Their different coats and headgear give the group variety, but their shared attention pulls the composition back toward the paper between them.

A plan before movement

The manufacturer places the scene in a Normandy armored setting. Its intended subject is a conference before action, rather than three commanders each looking toward a different target.

The dark uniform, long green coat and camouflage jacket make the participants easy to distinguish. One holds the map while the others contribute gestures and attention.

The air threat needs some nuance

The original description presents daylight movement as virtually impossible. Research published by the RAF Historical Society shows why the story is more complicated: air attacks caused disruption and fear, while post-battle investigation found that direct aircraft destruction of tanks could be overstated.

That distinction makes the map scene more interesting. Commanders had to consider movement, concealment and ground opposition together, rather than solve one simple problem of avoiding aircraft.

The map gives the group its shape

A shallow arc leaves all three faces visible and allows the paper to sit at the center. A tank can provide background context, but the figures do not need to be tightly pressed against its side.

WS355 contains the three-man conference group. It does not include the vehicles whose commanders the men represent.

The release belongs in the catalog as a planning subject with a strong visual focal point. When comparing an example, check the map-bearing pose and the three distinct clothing combinations together; they establish the original group more clearly than a generic description of German tank officers.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS355 product record lists a release date of July 2019 and a retirement date of December 2022. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
