The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS338

WS338 carries his sword low and forward as he steps along. The blade’s diagonal line immediately separates the figure from WS335, whose upright sword belongs to the marching presentation.

The fuller title is useful

Although some archived descriptions shorten the name to “Waffen SS Officer,” the original manufacturer announcement calls him the inspecting officer. That intended action explains the restrained stride and lowered weapon.

The green-toned jacket, gray trousers, helmet and light gloves give the figure a formal appearance. He is not modeled as a field commander surrounded by combat equipment.

The sword changes the space around him

The point extends beyond the body, so a close row of figures can easily hide it. A little open space in front keeps the pose readable.

A side-quarter photograph shows the step and blade together. Viewed only from the chest upward, much of the difference between this release and another uniformed officer disappears.

An inspection is a relationship

Placed near WS337 or WS340, the officer gives the stationary rifle figures something to face. The relationship can be clear with only a few figures; an enormous parade is not required to show the idea.

Each is still a separate catalog release. WS338 contains the officer alone, on the plain rectangular base shown in the saved image.

The Waffen-SS identity remains part of the historical subject, including the political institution represented by the formal uniform and parade setting.

WS338 earns its entry through the inspecting action and lowered sword. The complete blade, gloved hands and stepping feet are useful checkpoints when comparing an unboxed figure with this reference.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS338 product record lists a release date of July 2017. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
