The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS240

WS240 lies low, but his raised head and open mouth give the pose an outward energy. The MP40 remains in one hand while the expression turns the figure into someone addressing the men around him.

The instruction is visible even though the words are unknown

King & Country identifies an NCO shouting orders. The miniature does not specify what he says, so the expression can carry the idea without an invented quotation.

The contrast between grounded body and lifted face is the sculpt’s strongest feature. Most of the figure stays horizontal while the head creates a point of attention above it.

Two leaders, two ways of directing men

WS233 uses a beckoning hand while moving forward. WS240 supplies the lower, vocal counterpart, giving collectors a different leadership pose within the same broad infantry subject.

The comparison is particularly effective beside WS239’s prone officer. Both occupy ground level, but the officer aims a rifle while the NCO is visibly communicating.

Leave the face room to be seen

A wall or bank immediately in front can hide the expression and reduce the figure to a prone man holding a weapon. A slight angle toward the viewer preserves the open mouth and lifted chin.

Other figures can be placed where they appear to hear him, but the model does not establish a complete historical squad or a named engagement. The relationship is a display interpretation built around the documented pose.

WS240’s place in the catalog comes from that expressive difference. It shows how much narrative a face can add even when the body remains close to the ground.

The face, MP40 and supported upper body are the details to compare in a loose example. Together they identify the shouting NCO more reliably than a general description of a German prone figure.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS240 product record lists a release date of October 2013 and a retirement date of August 2020. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
