The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS193

The damaged concrete surfaces of WS193 suggest a structure that has already come under fire. Its compact body, narrow openings and protective wall by the entrance give this Normandy pillbox a more enclosed character than an open gun emplacement.

The entrance is worth a second look

The manufacturer identifies a blast wall opposite the rear door. In the miniature, that extra piece of concrete changes the approach to the entrance and gives the back of the structure as much interest as the firing side.

Three gunports are described, including a larger opening suitable for a machine gun. The arrangement makes the pillbox readable as a small fighting position rather than a generic concrete shed.

The removable roof changes how it can be used

The roof lifts off to allow figures to be placed inside. That is a practical collecting feature, especially for a structure whose openings would otherwise make the interior difficult to reach.

The release description suggests a small garrison, but figures are not included in the building merely because the promotional scene may show one looking through an opening. Choose the occupants separately and check their fit.

Normandy is the catalog setting, not a precise address

King & Country presents the type as a small German bunker found in Normandy and elsewhere in occupied Europe. The product record does not identify a specific surviving position or standardized bunker number.

The model can therefore support a Normandy scene without being described as an exact reconstruction of a named defensive work. Its visible features are the reliable starting point.

Let the damage and openings remain legible

A slightly elevated angle shows the roof texture while preserving the door and gunports. Too many figures packed around the walls can make the compact structure difficult to read.

WS193 adds an interior as well as an exterior to the catalog. The roof, protected entrance and damaged surfaces make it a useful architectural subject in its own right.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS193 product record lists a release date of June 2013 and a retirement date of October 2015. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
