The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS076

The telephone operator in WS076 leans into his call while two armed men occupy the ground nearby. A crouching dog sits at the lowest point of the composition, adding an unexpected fourth living presence.

The officer is trying to communicate

The archived description identifies a wounded Wehrmacht officer reporting that his position is under attack. A kneeling submachine gunner and advancing rifleman complete the three-man group, with the officer’s German shepherd beside them.

The telephone makes the scene more specific than three figures simply defending a wall. It gives the officer an activity that connects the position to people outside the miniature’s frame.

The bunker is a separate release

Despite the Bunker Defenders title, WS076 supplies the figures and dog. The substantial Atlantic Wall structure belongs to WS078.

That distinction is important when a dealer photographs the combined scene. The structure may fill most of the image, while the particular figures being offered occupy only a small part of it.

A lower viewpoint reveals the dog

The animal’s low posture echoes the kneeling soldier but changes the emotional tone. It also creates a practical display consideration: a high wall or dense foreground rubble can hide it completely.

A gentle angle across the figures lets the telephone, officer and dog remain connected. The rifleman then provides a separate line of movement toward the edge of the scene.

The historical place of a small group

The product announcement frames the release around the beginning of the Allied invasion, but does not name a particular bunker or officer. The D-Day catalog history provides the wider setting.

WS076 broadens that story through communication, injury and an animal companion. Its Wehrmacht category follows the men represented, alongside the WS code under which the manufacturer sold them.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS076 product record lists a release date of July 2009 and a retirement date of April 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
