The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS022
WS022 puts Rommel and accompanying figures in an open staff car. The folded roof and visible passengers give the vehicle a different character from the closed armour elsewhere in the early WS range.
A series code is not a biography
The catalog title names Rommel, who was a German Army officer. His presence in the WS product range does not make him a Waffen-SS commander, so this entry retains the German Army connection in its categories.
The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Rommel overview discusses his command career and the legend that later presented him as detached from Nazi politics. That provides a more careful setting than an uncomplicated “Desert Fox” tribute.
The open car makes the people visible
The saved photograph shows the passenger group above the car’s sides and a camouflage treatment across the body. The archived title identifies the staff-car-and-figures combination.
For completeness, compare the passengers as well as the vehicle. A car-only offer leaves out the named human subject that defines this release.
A headquarters scene in a small footprint
A road edge or arrival area can give the car a clear setting. Leave a viewing angle into the passenger compartment rather than hiding the figures behind a high foreground wall.
The photo’s background scenery is not sufficient evidence that those scenic elements came with the set.
Why the entry needs precision
WS022 combines a named historical figure with a transport subject. Keeping the product-series label, military affiliation and model contents distinct makes the article more useful for both collecting and historical reference.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS022 product record identifies this release but leaves its release and retirement dates blank. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
